Swedish Pine & Hand-cut Glass
The frames we use are customised to size and locally handmade. The structures are built from solid Swedish pine (furu); a stable, light wood chosen for its rigidity and even grain.
Sizing chart
Flush Mount
A traditional gallery-style configuration where the artwork is mounted directly against the glass. This creates a stable, low-profile presentation.
- Mounting: Flush mount (no air gap between print and glass).
- Glass: 2 mm float glass.
- Construction: Solid Swedish pine with a 15 mm (0.6 in) face and a 30 mm (1.2 in) depth.
- Archival Integrity: Assembled using acid-free adhesives and pH-neutral materials.
- Frame size: 29 × 43 cm (11.4 × 16.9 in) and 43 × 65 cm (16.9 × 25.6 in)
Float Premium
A museum-grade configuration where the print sits raised from the backing. This allows the paper edges to cast a shadow and creates a three-dimensional depth within the frame.
- Mounting: Professional float mount (3D shadow effect).
- Glass: Museum Glass. 2 mm hand-cut, UV-resistant, non-glare art glass. Protects the surface while maintaining absolute optical clarity and reducing reflections.
- Construction: Deep-profile shadow box in solid Swedish pine with a 15 mm (0.6 in) face and 30 mm (1.2 in) depth.
- Archival Integrity: Strictly acid-free components—from mounting adhesives to sealing tapes—to ensure long-term structural stability.
Technical Proportions
To maintain visual balance, internal margins (mats) are weighted based on the artwork's dimensions. For a standard large-format work, the proportions follow this logic:
- Face Width: 15 mm (0.6 in)
- Frame Depth: 30 mm (1.2 in)
- Standard Margins: 35–45 mm (1.4–1.8 in) at the sides and top; 45–55 mm (1.8–2.2 in) at the bottom.
- Frame sizes: 37.5 × 51 cm (14.8 × 20.1 in) and 52 × 70.5 cm (20.5 × 27.8 in)
Ultramarine was once a sacred luxury. It was carved from Afghan mountains and valued above gold. It is an absolute frequency: a superior refraction of light that pushes the color gamut to its limit. By absorbing long-wave light so profoundly, the blue appears to emanate from within.
Monolith begins with macro photography of clustered PB29, synthetic ultramarine blue pigments. The physical pigment is captured, then pushed through algorithmic loops and digital refinement. The additive process marries the laws of physics with the rules of code, introducing new patterns and fracture. It observes how the colour behaves under pressure before the final state is translated back into the physical world through archival, pigment ink printing on fine art paper.

Edition
Printed on 310 gsm Hahnemühle William Turner, a 100% white cotton paper. Characterised by a fine, highly pronounced felt structure, this mould-made paper provides physical depth and texture. The surface is free of optical brighteners and protected by a matte archival coating, ensuring deep blacks and sharp contrast. The paper is acid and lignin free, and ISO 9706 compliant for high age resistance.

Realised on Hahnemühle Canvas Artist, a matte-coated, natural white canvas. It is free of optical brighteners and features a coarse woven texture that gives the surface physical weight and depth. This substrate provides precise reproduction of colour and detail, with deep blacks and sharp contrast. The canvas is acid and lignin free, highly age resistant, and suited for mounting on stretcher frames.

Please note that digital screens cannot perfectly replicate physical pigments; the print itself is the definitive reference for color and texture. Subtle variations in character are inherent.
Unpacking & Surface Safety
- Edge Sensitivity: The work has a handling border, but the edges are part of the composition. Handle with care to avoid crimping or marking the corners.
- Glove Use: We strongly recommend wearing lint-free cotton gloves during any handling. The surface of the paper is highly sensitive to the natural oils and moisture from fingertips.
- Surface Contact: Avoid sliding the print against any surface. The structure can be prone to scuffing if moved across a rough plane.
Framing Recommendations
For collectors opting to frame the work themselves, we recommend a professional float mount to maintain the work’s intended presence. To reproduce the atelier’s signature look, instruct your framer as follows:
- Mounting: Float the print on an acid-free backing board to leave the mould-made edges visible.
- Frame Profile: Request a discrete wood profile with a 15 mm (0.6 in) face and a 30 mm (1.2 in) depth.
- Glass: Specify reflex-reducing museum glass with UV protection to preserve the pigment integrity over time.
- Materials: Ensure all mounting tapes and adhesives are strictly acid-free (syrafria).
Environment & Longevity
While the paper is ISO 9706 compliant for age resistance, the work should be placed in a stable environment. Avoid areas of high humidity or direct, prolonged exposure to high-intensity UV light. Do not place the work directly above active heat sources such as radiators or fireplaces.
