Swedish Pine & Hand-cut Glass
The frames we use are customised to size and locally handmade. The structures are built from solid Swedish pine (furu); a stable, light wood chosen for its rigidity and even grain.

Float Premium
A museum-grade configuration where the print sits raised from the backing. This allows the paper edges to cast a shadow and creates a three-dimensional depth within the frame.
- Mounting: Professional float mount (3D shadow effect).
- Glass: Museum Glass. 2 mm hand-cut, UV-resistant, non-glare art glass. Protects the surface while maintaining absolute optical clarity and reducing reflections.
- Construction: Deep-profile shadow box in solid Swedish pine with a 15 mm (0.6 in) face and 30 mm (1.2 in) depth.
- Archival Integrity: Strictly acid-free components—from mounting adhesives to sealing tapes—to ensure long-term structural stability.
Technical Proportions
To maintain visual balance, internal margins (mats) are weighted based on the artwork's dimensions. For a standard large-format work, the proportions follow this logic:
- Face Width: 15 mm (0.6 in)
- Frame Depth: 30 mm (1.2 in)
- Standard Margins: 35–45 mm (1.4–1.8 in) at the sides and top; 45–55 mm (1.8–2.2 in) at the bottom.
- Frame size: 52 × 70.5 cm (20.5 × 27.8 in)
Modern isolation is not a void, but a deliberately constructed sanctuary. It is a retreat into a space of wellbeing, where safety is bathed in unwavering warmth. The boundaries we build serve as protective barriers that hold us in a state of luminous detachment. It becomes an escape of sorts, perhaps a journey back to the very beginning of belonging without question.
Painted on screen and printed on thick, handmade 300 gsm white kozo washi with a natural deckled edge, the image feels submerged, as if it’s arriving from within the sheet rather than sitting on top.

Printed by the artist with Epson UltraChrome archival pigment inks on thick, handmade 300 gsm kozo (mulberry) washi, formed sheet by sheet using the slow-vat Tamezuki method. The sheet has visible thickness and a natural rigidity. It holds its shape when handled. Long kozo fibres add strength, and the matte surface holds remarkable depth without glare. Left untrimmed with a natural four-sided deckled edge, it reads as an object first, and a print second.
Please note that digital screens cannot perfectly replicate physical pigments; the print itself is the definitive reference for color and texture. Subtle variations in character are inherent.
The work ships flat. Do not roll.
The sheet is intentionally left untrimmed. Treat the deckle as part of the work.
Handling
- Use clean, lint-free cotton gloves.
- Avoid touching the image area.
- Lift with two hands and keep the sheet flat while moving.
- The deckled edge is delicate. Take care not to catch it on corners, mounts, or glazing.
Framing
- Frame without trimming.
- Ensure an air gap so the print does not touch the glazing. Use spacers or an appropriate mount package to create separation.
Mounting (Archival and Reversible Only)
- If available, use torn kozo paper hinges with wheat starch paste.
- Mount to a museum-grade cotton rag backing board.
- Do not dry mount, heat mount, spray mount, or use pressure-sensitive tapes or full-surface adhesives.
- For a visible deckle, float mount with minimal hinging, typically along the top edge, allowing the sheet to move naturally with humidity.
- If using a window mount, hinge the sheet first and ensure the mount does not compress or flatten the deckled edge.
Care
- Do not use liquids, cleaning agents, or compressed air.
- If dusting is necessary, use a very soft anti-static brush with minimal contact, avoiding the image area.
